It’s the holiday week and the road being more crowded than usual when we take a time to go out of our routine in the Last 2019 weekend. We stay for a night in Sibayak International Hotel - Berastagi. Berastagi known as a Cold weather place and iy is one of the nearest village to the Powerful Sinabung Volcano. You need at least 3(three) hours driving to get there from Medan - the Capital City of North Sumatera Province.
Lot of thing you can do in Berastagi, such as Horsing, Trekking or just strolling around with your family. Our kids really love to strolled around with horse riding and eat some grilled or bolied corn. You can also going to the higher place, we called it Gundaling Park, to enjoyed the beautiful of one of the Powerful Volcano in Indonesia, Mount Sinabung.
After a great day and enjoying night in Berastagi, we chose to going back home with different way. Ya, it’s more crowded and traffic jams everywhere along way back to Medan. There’s alot of way to go in or out of Berastagi, you can choose to go there from Medan Via Pematang Siantar or Via Binjai. Today we chose through Binjai, even though it is known as the Red Zone area of Sinabung way. Red Zone means that it’s Dangerous to pass, but it’s not impossible as long as you follow the instructions. As an information, there’s lot of citizens still living and working in this Red zone area.
The Plus thing that you can get through this way is you can see that Powerful volcanoes, lot of people working on their garden. If you brave enough to get more closer, you can also enjoying a time to take a cup of coffee beside a lake under the Volcano, we called it “lau Kawar lake”. But please be sensitive and follow all of the citizen instruction if you want to get inside the Lake area.
It takes at least 4 hours to Medan through this way and it’s absolutely worthy.
Akh, keren...!
